Title: I need help with DCS-930 930L 930LB ip cameras over 30 ip cameras
Post by: babyelepante on July 27, 2017, 01:21:43 AM
First of all , my apologies for my poor English.

My customers place have 80/20MBps Fiber optic. CAT5E Link cable (maximum length used for some ip cams 40 meters)
I've installed over 30 ipcameras "dcs-930,930l,930lb" (34 to be exact) ip-cameras.

I had them all installed and worked fine for over a year. DView Cam and live view on 2 android cell phones.
There was a time that I had some issues with them that half of all the ip cameras (about 15) CAN be detected but CANNOT be accessed.
Even though resetting them worked for me but takes too much time. and now in just less than a month only 10 can be connected. I hope that anyone , someone can help with my issue.

Link>Welcome! (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=48135.0)

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?
How many other wireless devices do you have connected to the main host router?

I recommend setting a static IP address ON the cameras outside of the main host routers default DHCP IP address pool as a troubleshooting step: 192.168.#.10 and .11  DHCP (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=58017.0)

Test cameras with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding both enabled on ALL cameras: DCS Cloud (L) Series Camera Configuration and Mydlink.com (http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=62395.0)

Are these cameras all connected via LAN cable?

Wire Connection is better than wireless and all are wired now.
All cameras are on fixed IP using ip's ranging from 192.168.1.208 , 192.168.1.209 , 192.168.1.210 to 192.168.1.242
From the main router with 4 ports 2 are connected directly , all are split with switch ports and the longest wire that I use is less than 50 meters in which is the switch port to switch port, I try to maintain 10 -15 meters distance from the switch port to the camera.

No wireless system attached from this fiber optic line, This line is used especially for the Dlink Ip Cameras. The customer have 3 fiber optic lines.

How many ip cameras can we use in a line with , lets say 100/40 (fiber optic line)that won't have any problem.

Thank you very much for your help.

if wired and you have that kind of ISP speed, I would think several. I know that you can have up to 10 devices on the mydlink.com service, however thats jsut the service which you don't have to attach the cameras too.

Glad it's working well.

Enjoy.
