I just installed ver 1.20 over the automatic update. The router said a new firmware is available when I signed in.

Thanks. The firmware is usually pushed through our global database a week before they publish it on the firmware server. I guess this one is an exception.  I will contact the router guys for the official release notes.

Checked mine today via router UI, v1.20 appeared and installed. I now have the 80+80Mhz support on 5Ghz.  ;D

I'll put this online this week and test it out.  ;)

Can someone explain to a non-expert network admin what 80+80Mhz gives me?

It means if you have a client devices that also supports 80+80Mhz channel width on 5Ghz, the connection rate between the 882 and this device will be 1700Mb instead of 1300Mb.  ;)

Can someone explain to a non-expert network admin what 80+80Mhz gives me?

Setup a NetGear R7960P in wireless bridge mode connected to the DIR-882 v1.20 in router mode today. Looking good:  ;D
https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/ad255b44-dd5f-4f73-8f2a-a840de5f0890 (https://www.speedtest.net/my-result/d/ad255b44-dd5f-4f73-8f2a-a840de5f0890)

The R7960P supports 160Mhz, however I can't tell if it's connected at 1700Mb. I'll connect my R7800 in wireless bridge mode and it will let me know if it's connected at 1700Mb.  8)

Well the R7800 reports 17333Gb/s in wireless bridge mode with the DIR-882:
WiFi0   ath0 ESSID:"Airport Extreme" , CH:153(P)+149(S), Frequency:5.805 GHz Rate:1.7333 Gb/s, Tx-Power (100%):29 dBm (794 mW), RSSI:-46 dBm

Speed test is good too.  ;)

Could someone else please check if my experience is unique or it can be reproduced .
Before the upgrade to v1.2  from v1.11 I used to get ~60-62 MB/s from my NAS ( wired of course )to my laptop ( Intel 7260 AC 2x2 wifi card ) but now it seems that it tops out at ~40 MB/s .
The 160 MHz channels do nothing for me right now since I have no compatible clients but the bug fixes to IPv6 Prefix Delegation issue (ISP RDS Romania ) and also the fix for the VPN Server / Firewall issue (which by the way is a little better @16 Mb/s speed both up/down from a max of 12-13 Mb/s on v1.11) are things for which I would like to keep using v1.2 but not at the expense of loosing 33% wireless bandwidth ( the link speed is still 867 Mb/s but the actual throughput is way worse ).

Was a factory reset and setup from scratch performed after loading v1.20?

No I didn't but that's not something that should be required and it shouldn't have such a profound effect if not carried out .
I'll do it later when I get back home but I'm not being very hopeful that it will fix anything .

If the reset doesn't fix it, go back to prior version of FW and see if the speed comes back. Maybe something in newer version that could be effecting something with your wifi card as well. Ensure your wifi adapter card drivers are also up to date.

Yea ; the weirdest thing . I came back home and now without any change form my part everything seems to be right back even though last night for about 1h I couldn't get more than 40-41 MB/s ( I read the news that the update was seeded not long before bedtime ).
Anyhoo all seems OK now .

Ok. Possible a settling in between the router and your adapter was needed. One reason for a factory reset after updates is recommended.

Enjoy.  ;)

Ran into a problem. Sometime around 2AM this morning, the router stopped. Cameras were off line then and other half said they had not internet at all when getting online this morning for work. I took my iPhone and D-Link app and was able to connect to the router and reboot it. Internet was back online after it was back to ready. I updated FW and didn't reset this time so I'll do a reset and setup from scratch again and see if it happens again.  :-\

After I've updated to FW 1.20 my two wireless USB adapters can't find 5GHz band.
Linksys Max-stream AC-1200
TP_Link Archer T9UH

If I down grade to 1.11 and use factory settings except for channel width which I set to 20/40/80 both devices work properly again. All other peripherals like my phones, chromecast, tv etc don't have a problem with FW 1.20, just the USB devices I mentioned above

Did you try disabling smart connect and see if the adapters saw the 5Ghz band?

Can you try the following if you get some time?
Load up v1.20 again, factory reset, setup from scratch and this time, disable Smart Connect. Set WPA to disable temporarily. Use default SSIDs for this.
Configure both adapters to forget an clear out any prior connected profiles on the PCs.
Then have the adapters scan and see if they see the SSID with out a PW.

Post your findings. If the adapters still fail, please revert back to v1.11.

Thank you.

I'll post this here in hopes D-Link can look into this or pass this along to HQ.

Since the 882 was updated to v1.20, it now supports 160Mhz on 5Ghz. I have a NetGear R7800 that also supports 160Mhz. The R7800 is configured for wireless bridge mode so I can test out the 160Mhz on the 882. The R7800 reports it connect at 1733Mpbs and seems to work for the most part. General internet access and speedtest work and return correct results. However, I have found an odd issue with the R7800 wireless bridge connected to the 882 on 5Ghz.

If I have 1 xbox game console wire connected to the 882, and a 2nd xbox game console wired connected to the NetGear R7800, and both game consoles are online and if either gamer connects to voice chat on XBL, we noticed that the 2nd game console thats connected to the R7800 keeps getting voice chat disconnected then reconnected for few seconds then disconnected again. The xbox voice chat keeps trying to reconnect to the other gamer on the wired game console. I removed the 2nd xbox game console from the R7800 and directly connected it to the 882 and the problem was solved. I also tried having the 2nd game console that was connected to the R7800 be turned on first, then turning on wired xbox game console be turned on lastly. We noticed that it's voice chat kept doing the same thing, disconnecting and reconnecting for unknown reasons. I presumed something between the R7800, 882 and both game consoles were not working correctly with using in the R7800 in wireless bridge mode connected to the 882.

So yesterday I turned OFF the wifi radios on the 882 and wire connected a COVR2200 in AP mode to the 882. I then wirelessly connected the R7800 to the 2200 AP. 2nd xbox game console connected to the R7800. Both gamers has uninterrupted chat and we gamed for hours playing Division 2 yesterday.

I see the R7800 is Qualcomm Atheros QCA9984
The DIR-882 is MediaTek MT7615N
The COVR2200 is Qualcomm IPQ4019
I presume maybe some in-compatibility concerns here between QCA and MediaTek...Since the R7800 and COVR2200 seems to work well.  ::)

Does this happen when:

1. Connect using 20/40/80
2. When both XBs are connected to 882 (wifi)
3. When both XBs are connected to R7800
4. When connected via Ethernet to 882
5. Older firmware on 882

I thought this was tech support?  :P

Good info. Will give this a try and report back. I have nothing better to do since I have this week off.  ::)

1. Connect using 20/40/80 - Will try this today.
2. When both XBs are connected to 882 (wifi) - I can only do one console via wifi as the other is down in the basement. I will connect mine since mine the closest.
3. When both XBs are connected to R7800 - Same as #2.
4. When connected via Ethernet to 882 - This corrects the problem seen
5. Older firmware on 882 - I will downgrade and test after checking item #1.

1. Connect using 20/40/80 - So I switched the channel width to 20/40/80. Noticed the R7800 connected in wireless bridge mode was at 1300Mbps connection rate after the change. I had gamed Halo with a remote gamer friend for a while yesterday . Had no issues with private voice chat. I turned mine off after playing while I had dinner. After roommate came home from work, his game console thats in the basement on wired connection was already online. I turned on the 2nd xbox connected to the R7800 and it was online. We both connected to the xbox private voice chat and gamed Division 2 for a few hours last night. We both heard each other throughout the night.  :D

I'll re-enable 160Mhz and see if the problem re-appears.

1. Connect using 20/40/80
2. When both XBs are connected to 882 (wifi)
3. When both XBs are connected to R7800
4. When connected via Ethernet to 882
5. Older firmware on 882

After testing non 160Mhz features and the R7800 and xbox chat was working there. I turned 160Mhz back on and rebooted the R7800 with my xbox connected and the 2nd xbox wire connected. Could not maintain any xbox chat online between the two consoles. Kept disconnecting that chat. I disconnected my xbox from the R7800 and turned it off and connected my xbox wireless to the DIR-822. Played several hours last nite with out any problems in the xbox chat or gaming.

Something between the R7800 and the DIR-882 with 160Mhz enabled with a xbox connected to the R7800 and a xbox wire connected to the DIR-882 isn't working well.

Ok, so I've figured out what was the cause of the R7800 and the 882 not working well for xbox console configuration. I loaded up more recent FW code on the R7800 and used stock FW instead of Voxels 3rd party FW. Played with my xbox console connected to the R7800 in bridge mode while the 882 had 160Mhz enabled. No xbox voice chat issues seen. Played for a few hours. This issue is resolved and not a DIR-882 issue.  ;D

IEx32 and FF quickly displays the title fields then auto navigates to the routers home log in page. Doesn't remain on the .txt page.
