help with my dlink dir 655 and dcs 1130 setup
« on: June 17, 2010, 08:15:10 AM »

hi, i have a dlink dir-655 router and a wireless dcs 1130 IP camera. currently i have it setup so it records to my computer.
my friend is opening up 3 new small fitness centers and we were trying to figure if we can set up a network cam with a router and record to a network hard drive with out a computer
i have a few questions.
1. can my IP camera be streamed live?
2. can i record to ftp site?
3. if i attach a network drive can my IP camera record to that.
4. do i need a computer at all to record my IP camera to a network drive or ftp

1) Yes.
2) Yes but only screen shots not consistent video footage.
3) No. However some of the other cameras can do this. Also I would recommend looking into the DNS-726-4 at dlink.com
4) Yes with this camera or the DNS-726-4 can be used as a surveillance system.
