D View Cam with DCS-910's and 920
« on: January 26, 2009, 03:25:13 PM »

I left the PC running for the last 8 hours, it still says CONNECTING !
Do you think it will ?

Reminds me of MS Windows Vista ! Much prettier, but less functional !

I have 9 PC s running here at home, and only 1 works with D View Cam !
Beats me on how that happened ! I wish I could repeat what I did on the old Pentium 4 !

Disabling any anti-virus software and see if it then works. In D-ViewCam2 goto the i icon above were the camera image should be and verify the IP address, viewing port of the camera if changed for remote access, and username/password.

It wasn't the AVG Free latest virus program, and the IP's were OK, guess it didn't like the auto add camera function the first time around
I removed all cameras, and re-added them manually with the same IP address, then plugged in the cameras
All works OK now
I also noted, that D View Cam has the Date / Time stamp on the video by default, I'm happy now ...

Thanks

I give up !   D View Cam software 2.0.3 sometimes works, sometimes not, but it is mostly confused all the time, can't even get mutiple PC s to run the software the same way, and some PC s not at all

I'm going back to the IP View Lite SE software, at least is runs all the time, and config changes don't just disappear on you ...

Same issue with 920 wired or wireless.. simply not seen.. works ok with IPView Lite.. instantly sees it and works, but this one keeps trying connect and giving me an event status message of videolost.

tried everything to fix it I could find here and elsewhere, but no go.

Vista 32B (Network is all dlink based hardware)

Access via explorer/firefox works fine..

Very difficult application to navigate through..

Make sure you manually enter all of the camera information properly. If you are running any anti-virus software please try disabling it and see if it now shows.

OK.. Got it working.. .WOW what a headache..... Finally resolved it.. Had to setup all the info and configure first  THEN and only THEN plug in the camera!!.

Is there a manual for this app? and what does "videolost" status mean when your getting video??

I have nearly the same problem as PICOdave69. The cam works in the explorer mode with either Active X or Java but when I tried to use Dview, it says connecting even though it has detected the camera.

After 5 minutes of the 'connecting' screen, I gave up.

I'm using the software that came with the camera on the CD.

Also, I am running Norton 360 for my PC Security, Firewall, Email, Internet (Phishing & Fraudulent sites) as well as Backup and Maintenance.

Please advice. Thanks.

Have you tried the latest version of D-ViewCam 2.03? It can be downloaded from the support website.

Any ideas about the 'event detected' videolost? I have that only on one of my cameras. Already rebooted cam and it's doing that on both PC's.
