MainStage TV Adapter Resolution Output?
« on: December 20, 2011, 03:21:56 PM »

I purchased the MainStage TV Adapter for my HP Intel Core i5 M460 laptop with WiDi. My laptop desktop native resolution is 1600x900 but I can only get 1366x768 displayed on my HDTV and laptop when I turn on WiDi. This makes all my icons move around and very large on the laptop. I updated to the latest firmware but this did not help. I have the option in Intel Wirelss Display control panel dropdown menu to select 1600x900 in "Clone mode" but it gives me a message saying "Your video mode has changed to a resolution, color depth or operating mode that cannot be displayed remotely" and goes back to 1366x768.

In the "Extended desktop mode" I can select 1600x900 for my main screen (laptop) but the max I can select is 1366x768 for the HDTV output. Oddly I even have 1920x1080 in Extended desktop mode as an option but if I select it I get the same "...cannot display remotely" message as above.

So is it possible to have the MainStage output 1600x900 onto my HDTV and have my laptop at the native resolution of 1600x900?

Ultimately what I would like it to display 1920x1080 on my HDTV and my native 1600x900 on my laptop but I don't know if that possible either.

Why isn't there a DHD-131 forum? I only posted here because I seen others do the same.  ???
