Information from ctera web site: http://www.ctera.com/home/faq.html

CTERA online backup is priced as follows:

    * 10GB for $9.95/month
    * 25GB for $19.95/month
    * 50GB for $29.95/month
    * 100GB for $49.95/month
    * 200GB for $99.95/month

If Dlink stick to these prices it will be out of my price range.

YIKES!  Enough said!  :o :o

www.mozy.com gives you unlimited storage for $54.45/year, I've been using their free (2gig max) service for some time to backup just my important documents.

Those prices are absurd!  ::)

There are no prices set for this service. Do not go by Ctera's main site for pricing. Regarding the 10GB limit, remember this is a beta right now.

I can only hope that the prices are nowhere near those, because they're prohibitive for most folks!

Those are business solution prices listed and are not the same price set for the DNS-323. Also those of you who are already using the service may have noticed a 'slight' increase in the amount of storage you have.

That's encouraging to hear, I'll still wait for the official pricing. :)

Nice feature. I'm surprised that Dlink has put the effort in to creating this facility, but haven't added a basic facility to dump the data on the NAS to a hard disk connected directly to its USB port. I'm sure the later is easier to impliment than the first. I even managed to knock something up with a few shell commands in a fun_plug script...

They're going to make money from the on-line backup scheme. ;)

Must take a lot of processor power to install firmware. :D

As promised 1.09 code and addon is now available on our ftp site. With the latest code you can configure and setup your DNS-323 to backup your important data to the cloud directly without the need of a dedicated PC.

Head on over to https://dlink.ctera.com/ and signup for your free 30 day trial.

Any feedback on the service should be placed here in this thread and we look forward to hearing back from you.

As mentioned here on your post that the backup is done to the cloud, what if I already have an existing account with another cloud like ubuntuone and dropbox, will I be able to use them on this firmware?
