Dropping Wireless Connection
« on: October 10, 2008, 07:38:11 PM »

Hello, I am becoming very frustrated with my son's wireless connection dropping numerous times, with no apparent reason, since I have upgraded to the DGL-4500.  When I got this router, I also updated his adapter with the DWA-130.  I am unsure where the problem lies, he will just randomly lose the connection, no error message, connection is just gone.  This never happened with the old Linksys router we had.  I have updated the router's firm ware and have tried to update the usb adapter's driver.  The adapter seems to get very warm, but I don't think this is the problem since the drops will sometimes occur when he first gets on.  Any suggestions?

how many walls between adapter and router?
do you have 2.4 Ghz cordless phones?
does the signal drop when someone is using the phone?
are there many other wireless routers in your area?

these are a few scenarios that could affect wireless connectivity
