Connect to MAC Address?
« on: January 28, 2020, 12:27:56 AM »

Hi there!

I have multiple DCS-936l - And I really like them.

But I have this annoying issue - I use a mesh wifi system, Omni, and the problem is, that all my access points are named the same, so the camera connects to what it thinks is best. Camera1 is placed in the kitchen, where an Omni also is placed a few meters from Camera1, but Camera1 is always connecting to a Omni upstairs 10 meters away, witch make my security software loose the connection.

Is there a way to select what MAC address it should connect to?

I also have a DCS-5000l, and in the wifi settings, I can see all my access points, even tho they have the same name - This might also be possible with DCS-936l?

I hope you guys have help me with my problem :)

Power OFF the other extenders leaving the one closest to the camera ON and see if it will connect to the one nearest.
Turn down the power radios on these extenders if possible.
The 936L only connects to SSID names.
