Issues with mydlink and DIR-865L
« on: April 04, 2013, 05:34:48 PM »

Hi.. I have tried everything to get this to work but I have not been successful. I know that were some issues with Java and FF with mydlink page. I have updated my Java to "Java Deployment Toolkit 7.0.170.2 10.17.2.2" and "Java Platform SE 7 U17 10.17.2.2". Even with these updates my router status keeps showing the loading sign. I have also tried both Chrome and IE9 with the same loading sign that never ends. Any suggestions?

What OS are you using?

I would un-install all Java SW then only install the main Java Platform for your OS and OS Platform, i.e. x32. I think x32 works the best.

Let us know if you can access it or not.

Thanks for the reply. I am running Windows 7 64-bit with Java 7 Update 17.

How do I go about uninstalling the Java SW?

You should be able to uninstall Java SW under the Control Panel/Programs.

If you don't' seem to find this, please refer to Microsoft or Java's web site on removal of the software.

Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions, I really do appreciate it.

I tried deleting the Java 7 update 17 from the control panel. I also disabled the Java on my browser. Restarted my browser (FF) and reinstalled Java 7 update 17. Still no connection to mydlink accessing my router.

When you say to delete SW I do not see that under control panel. Is that the same the Java 7 update 17. If you know of any other work around please let me know. Thanks.

Ok. I seem to be experiencing the same as I can't get my Mac Book or 2 different Windows PC to connect to the router. Seems to can't find the Java application even though it's installed on Mac and Windows XP using IE 7 it gives the following:
Unable to access your DIR-865L.

If you cannot access your DIR-865L, please check that:
•You have at least 256K of bandwidth
•Your DIR-865Lis not being blocked by a firewall or an antivirus program

:-\ However QRS application on my iPhone 4S is connecting so I think the service is working however I think there is something broke with MyDlink on PC and Mac and the Java application.

FYI: Arris Cable Modems and External Routers

I am glad I am not the only one experiencing these issues.

I got a Java 21 update and thought it would help but still experiencing the same issues.

Do you think the 1.04 firmware update will help?

Have you factory reset the router and re-registered the router with mydlink services again?

Could give it a try, if you decide to, please follow this:
FW Update Process

Let us know the results...

I'm having the same issue. It just hangs at loading, even though the java applet has been initiated and unblocked. I can't even get it to work on the iPhone app, hangs at loading there as well.

And yes, I've reset my router..

What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under router.

Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?

What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?
What version of Java is loaded and what OS platform are you using?

What browser are you using?
Try Opera or FF? If IE 8 or 9, set compatibility mode and test again.

Ok, so I hooked the 865L back up and I'm able to get in to the routers status page on mydlink on my Mac Book Pro with 10.7.5, Java v7b21 using FF. Safari v6.0.4 will not gain access and reports that Java needs to be installed. I presume there could be an issue with Safari vs Java in OSX. I have also accessed the 865Ls status page on mydlink using a Windows 7 x64 PC with IE9 and Java v6b31. I then installed Java v7b21 on the same PC and as able to gain access to the routers status page on mydlink.

This was from my local home connection so I'll attempt to try this remotely at work.

I've tried it in Safari 6.04, Firefox 20 and Opera 12.15 on my MacBook. I've even tried IE 10 on my virtual Win8 machine. Same thing in all browsers and the iPhone app - I see my router, but on Router Status and Settings all I get is the spinning Loading screen. It does load Java (7u21) though, so it looks like it cannot connect to router  :-\ It was the same thing with my old 865L. The one I have now is HW A1 and FW 1.04 (got it from tech support to try and fix another issue). It was the same thing on 1.03 however.

Ok, So that you reminded me that I need to test this from work, I too am seeing the same problem from work in accessing my 865L. Everything loads then after a long period of time I get the following:
"Unable to access your DIR-865L.

If you cannot access your DIR-865L, please check that:

You have at least 256K of bandwidth
Your DIR-865L is not being blocked by a firewall or an antivirus program"

My iPhone 4S is posting a error when connecting:
"Please check network setting and try again - (0.70.0.2.8.0)"

I see that the following is posted before logging into mydlink.com:
"Notice: Scheduled Maintenance

2013/04/30 00:00

In order to provide you with better service, the mydlink website will undergo scheduled maintenance on April 30 from 12:00AM to 4:00AM (UTC-7). The mydlink portal may be temporarily unavailable during this period. Should you require immediate assistance, please do not hesitate to contact D-Link Technical Support. We apologize for any inconvenience."

So this is supposed to happen tonight and I would recommend that we wait until tomorrow morning after 4am to see if anything has changed. If we can't get access by tomorrow, then it's time to phone contact level 2 or higher support.
