Accessing wirteless devices from an IPAD
« on: December 26, 2011, 12:16:12 PM »

I have a DIR-655 with the latest firmware 1.35NA. I also  with a wireless connection  to a Grace internet radio and a DAP 1522 (with the latest firmware 1.31)  set up as a bridge with my direct tv box connected . The DIR-655 ip is 192.168.2.1, Grace radio ip is 192.168.2.177, DAP-1522 ip is 192.168.2.3 and Direct TV box ip is 192.168.2.173. My PC is hardwired  to the DIR-655. I can ping all devices from my PC, but cant ping the DAP 1522, Direct TV Box or Grace Internet Radio  from my IPAD. I have no trouble connecting to the DIR-655 from my Ipad. It only seems to be anything thats connected wireless to the DIR-655 that I cant access from my IPAD. All devices have the same subnet of 255.255.255.0 and gateway of 192.168.2.1.
Any advice would be appriciated.

What wireless modes are you using?
Try single mode G or mixed G and N?
What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/Auto TPIK and AES.

Turn off Short GI and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Some things to try:
Ensure DNS IP addresses are being filled in under Setup/Internet/Manual? You can find these under Status/Device Info/Wan section.
Turn off ALL QoS (DIR only) GameFuel (DGL only and if ON.) options. Advanced/QoS or Gamefuel.
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices on the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.

Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP.

Ensure the devices you have on the network have shared folders enabled that your trying to connected too.

That didn't help, still have the same problem. I did notice this in the logs
UPnP renew entry 255.255.255.255 <-> 24.49.129.138:63028 <-> 192.168.2.175:63028 UDP timeout:0 'Teredo'   The subnet that the cable modem gave my router is different than mu local area network. When I ping the DAP 1522 from my IPAD, it doesn't show up in the logs. I had the same problem with an IPOD

So are you using a DAP or the 655 to connect wirelessly? I'm a bit confused now.

I am using the 655 to connect wireless, but have a app that allows me to control my direct tv box from my IPAD. The direct tv box is connected to the DAP and the Dap is set up as a bridge. I can access it from  my PC but can't access it from  my IPAD. I also have a app to control my Grace Internet radio and can't access it either. Like I said I can ping these devices from my PC, but can't from the IPAD. Anything that is connected wireless to the 655, I can't ping, but can from my PC. Anything hard wired to the 655, I can ping from my IPAD.

Again nobody been able to resolve this issue, noT even DLINK Tech Support. They told me to disable my virus software from my PC. This has nothing to do with my PC. Its connecting one wireless device to another. A freind of mine is a Network Manager for a Major Corp. He told me to uncheck WLAN Partition. This attribute prevent "ONE WIRELESS DEVICE FROM CONNECTING TO ANOTHER WIRELESS DEVICE"
