I get email notifications 10 times a day when my camera disconnects itself. I can't get the camera on-line long enough to try to figure out how to stop the email notifications. I just want the emails to stop at least. It would be nice if the camera wouldn't disconnect all the time but can't have everything. I just sick of this whole crap. I have 4 of these cameras 2 of which are the 5020L . I can't even get the firmware to update it just sits there with the circle running for an hour or more. This stuff is junk. Why can't anything be just plug and play?

Can you LAN wire connect to the camera?
Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

Try a factory reset then setup the camera from scratch amd don't enable the email feature...

I did lan connect each camera for setting up, but no, they must be remotely placed and wireless.
3 different cameras DCS 5020L, 932L, 933L Can't find this page Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status. to answer that question. 1 camera is sitting on my desk at the moment 2 feet from the  wireless router. other 5020L is 40  feet away in a different building and used to work just fine.. they all used to work just fine. The 933 and 932 are 20 feet away from router.  I tried a reset by the reset hole and using the set up wizard for each camera 2 days ago still didn't work. Then yesterday they all came back on-line like magic without me doing anything  and worked beautifully until 6 p.m. tonight and all 4 cameras went out at the same time. I've tried restarting the router. I've tried unplugging the cameras and plugging back in.  Router is a Belkin N ,  I've tried both set ups wi-fi and wpa ( I guess that's what you asking).  I've contacted support but it was before they started working, and told them they were magically working again. But I did resubmit my problem to dlink haven't answered me yet and frankly I don't think they can help I think it's their website or something.

This maybe an interference issue.

Wireless Configurations
Links>Wireless Installation Considerations and Managing Signal Congestion and Good Neighbour Policy
  • Ensure the default (dlink) SSID name is changed. Ensure that different SSID names are used between each WiFi 2.4/5Ghz radios. Can be anything and not something that's already in use by any neighbouring WiFi routers.
  • What wireless modes are you using on the main host router??
  • 2.4Ghz Routers only: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N?
  • 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz routers: Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on 2.4Ghz and single mode N or AC on 5Ghz?
  • Channel Width set for Auto 20/40Mhz or try 20Mhz only.
  • Try setting a manual Channel to a open or unused channel. 1, 6 or 11. 11 for single mode N if the channel is clear. 13 for EU regions. Try channel 48 or 149 on 5Ghz.
  • What security mode are you using? Preferred security is WPA-Personal. WPA2/AES Only. Some WiFi adapters don't support AES, so you might want to try TPIK only or Auto TPIK and AES.
  • What wireless devices do you have connected?
  • Ensure any devices with WiFi adapter drivers are updated.
  • Any 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz cordless house phones or WiFi APs near by that maybe causing interferences?
  • Any other WiFi routers in the area that maybe causing interferences? Link> Use InSSIDer to find out. How many? Use v3, its free.
