dir-855 ipv6
« on: April 10, 2010, 01:37:31 AM »

Hello,

My ISP is testing IPV6 now for a beta group of 1000 users and i am one of them.
Now i know that the dir - 855 should be capable of doing ipv6 only it is not implemented yet in the current firmware.

Is there a beta release with support for ipv6?

I would glady test this!

regards,

Arkadas

I'm also interested in this. As the dir-825 also supports this, is it possible to added it to the dir-855? Or is there a new product coming with similar specs to the dir-855 with ipv6 support?

We should all be interested. IANA is predicted to run out of IPv4 addresses next year. Local organisations will run out of space after that, a lot of people talk about a catastrophe. I do not believe in the scenarios, though... Good to know 855 can do IPv6.

Same question here, Windows 7 needs ipv6 for "Home group" feature.

To address the previous post - i have used the Windows 7 'Homegroup' feature on all ym pcs and recently my windows home server using IPv4 just fine! Pretty sure that IPv^ is NPT mabdatory for this.

cheers

I would buy an 855 in an instant if it had the IPv6 support of the 825. I cannot fathom why the lesser model has it but not the top-end one.

Same here. I cannot even begin to understand why the 825 does get to have IPv6 support and the 855 doesn't. Ridiculous.

Maybe the 825 would work for you better since it come with IPv6 already.
Is your ISP supporting IPv6?
If so, which ISP are you using?
