DO you need comprimise device mac address to change it

I want to tweak my devices mac address but i dont  want to compromise it if its has not been converted yet what are your experiences with this subject when you configured or any stories you have ran across.

It's not advised or recommended to change any MAC addresses. Processes can make devices not work or brick them.
