WLAN and NAS
« on: January 08, 2013, 02:27:43 AM »

Sorry, I did not find anything in the FAQ so I'm just going to ask here.

I have a Dir-645 ( Rev A v1.03), a WD MyBookLive Duo as a NAS, a Laptop and a normal desktop PC.

I can access the NAS from my desktop without problems.
From my laptop via WLAN I can only access the web interface, not the shares.

I'm pretty sure I'm simply missing a setting. ::)
I read something about wireless isolation in another forum which would explain the error. But could not find it in the manual.
And the configuration possibilities of this Router are just overwhelming. Which is usually nice but does not help right now. :'(

Advanced Wireless settings are under Advanced/Advanced Wireless. Check to see if Wireless Partition is available and if so, disable it.

Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking. This ensures each devices gets its own IP address when turned on and connected, eliminates IP address conflicts and helps in troubleshooting.
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking. Disable uPnP for testing Port Forwarding rules.

Enable WMM Enable Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.
Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
