Firmware Release version 1.22NA Feedback
« on: January 28, 2010, 06:54:35 PM »

Woo Hoo,  ;D doesn't look like much changed from Beta 03. Hope this might be a lot better than 1.21NA was.  ::)

Just loaded on my #2 A1 4500. Will see how it goes.

I'm trying to download it from the link provided by the sticky, but an error saying "550 failed to change directory". Can someone fix this so I can download the FW please.

Try this: ftp://ftp.dlink.com/Gateway/dgl4500/firmware/

It will list all of the firmware files available. Just grab the 1.22NA one.

I downloaded it off the FTP site, but when the FW installed and everything, the date of the FW remained the same as the FWB03, does this matter?

I know Furry, I did all that, but the date on the FW is still the same as the FW from the beta 03, is this a problem?

No I don't think it matters however I went ahead and updated mine and did the factory reset. Seems good so far. Played 3 hours of XBL last nite. Had a good time.

I just loaded mine (A1) with 1.22NA, will keep you posted.  Saved my configuration, did a factory reset, loaded the new firmware and then reloaded my configuration.  No problems at all loading it, status says 1.22NA,  2010/01/19.  I didn't really have any problems with 1.21NA, only thing it did was drop my wireless  a few times a week.  Other than that it ran well.

Wireless has been good since applying v1.22 and the betas preceding it. I'm happy so far. Hope every else will be.

Tired of messing around with D-Link and all the broken promises?  Want to roll your
dgl-4500 firmware back to 1.15 right now?  The two links below have the fix. This
is not a joke.  It works.  Both sites are very reputable and people have tested it.

http://www.ispgeeks.com/wild/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4224#15926

and

http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r23720820-downgrade-possible-DGL4500-12xNA115

Follow the simple instructions and tell d-link where to stuff it.

Christmas was a little late this year but better late than never!

Just curious if those that have gone to 1.22NA will be staying at it now that they can go back to 1.15.  I am at 1.15 debating if I should go to 1.22 final release.  My 1.15 sometimes has to be rebooted and if 5 or 6 wireless users get on it, it becomes unresponsive at times.  Just curious if those that are at 1.22 think it's worth taking the jump now?

Thanks in advance for any input.

I am considering bumping to 1.22NA, but to be honest, *all* of my issues disappeared with build I am using - I believe it is (121B08) - I checked my stats just before upgrading, but I had no dropped packets in wireless and only 7 on wired out of 5 million plus - just like the old performance I was used to with my DGL-4300.

You could upgrade. I would save off your config file then apply the new FW. However if it works, don't fix it.  ::)

Just upgraded to 1.22NA so far so good although my backup settings couldn't be applied properly... I applied them and then I couldn't connect to the router.  So I have rebooted the router and re-setup everything.  It was annoying but if the firmware works better I'm all for it  :)

Edit:

I still seem to have a lot of Dropped packets on my wireless and errors (Up time 42mins);

LAN STATISTICS

Sent :842757
TX Packets Dropped :3
Collisions :0
Received :427052
RX Packets Dropped :0
Errors :0

WAN STATISTICS

Sent :496466
TX Packets Dropped :0
Collisions :0
Received :977541
RX Packets Dropped :0
Errors :0

WIRELESS STATISTICS

Sent :161744
TX Packets Dropped :3647
Received :83980
RX Packets Dropped :99
Errors :655

However it does seem to be a tad quicker and I have a better signal.
