MD5 hash questions
« on: January 23, 2010, 07:58:54 AM »

I am kind of confused about the MD5 hash utility. Is it required for beta03 firmware to run correctly? What is the point of MD5 hash? Thanks in advance.

No it's not required to update to the Beta 03. Just DL the zip file, unpack, updated the router, do a factory reset then reapply your config file if you saved one.

Cool. Yeah it seems to have updated just fine, I just wasn't sure what the point in MD5 hash was.

A hash is to ensure when once compiles the packages or files, that the report of the contents of the package does not change when it gets to the end user.
