Title: Cant Access Windows 7 Media Server after Installing DSL-2750U
Post by: cruelintension on August 17, 2014, 04:02:16 PM
Hi All,

I changed my old wireless router and modem by purchasing the DSL-2750U router. I made the necessary connections to the router and i am able to access the internet on my Ipad, PC (Ethernet), Sony Bravia TV and my Windows Mobile.

With my old setup i was able to access the Media files shared from PC with my TV and Ipad but after i setup the new router with modem i am no longer able to access those shared drives. I am not sure what setting i have messed. Can you please help me out.

Thanks,
Manoj

Sorry i mentioned the model number wrong it is DSL-2730U
FW:IN_1.02
H/W:U1

And for testing purpose i connected my old Cisco wireless router if it is an issue with the system but the moment i connected the device i was able to see the shared folder in my Ipad as well as the TV.

Do you have Multi-cast Streaming feature listed some where on this modem? Usually that should be enabled for any Media service to work right.

Hi Furry thanks for the reply. I am not sure where to find this option even file sharing is not working after installing this router but with the old one it is working.

I would review the user manual for any mention of that feature. Also, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.
