I would submit a support ticket on this with your regional D-Link support site and reference this forum thread. I may do the same for the 890L. This seems to be and issue with the DIR-895L and DWA-192 and Windows 7 and 10.

Hi, so i got ~30 MB/s when i copy from WD Passport (hdd ext 2.5) that connected to DIR-895L USB 3.0 port.
I tested again connected my Vaio notebook that connected Gigabit Wired to DIR-895L and copy file from vaio to ROG laptop (Intel AC 8265 ) over wireless,, i got ~65 MB/s,, wow  ;D
i believe speed should be faster again because its old Vaio ;)

so my little conclusion :
1. DIR-895L USB 3.0 speed is not too fast, just stuck around 30 MB/s, dont expect too much from it if you wanna great speed
2. Connect your storage/NAS to Gigabit port and copy from it if you want full speed
3. Some Windows 10 user that got stuck speed, need some tweak/tune from my previous post ( Windows Problem )

CMIIW

will post screenshoot

i'm waiting my Synology NAS come, and will report again here :)

There was new firmware released on the support site on 1/13/17 for the DIR-895L/R. If you haven't already, I would give that a try. Definitely let us know if it still hasn't helped.

I Have also brought the other issues to the attention to my group and am awaiting a response.

Thank you. Hope we can figure this one out for this model router and others with using the DWA-192 as well.

I wonder if this could be a factor in Windows 10 as well?
"Network Throttling Index
Applies to Windows 7, 8, 10, 2008 Server, and 2012 Server. Setting can be applied using the TCP Optimizer as well.

By default, Windows implements a network throttling mechanism to restrict the processing of non-multimedia network traffic to 10 packets per millisecond (a bit over 100 Mbits/second). The idea behind such throttling is that processing of network packets can be a resource-intensive task, and it may need to be throttled to give prioritized CPU access to multimedia programs. In some cases, such as Gigabit networks and some online games, for example, it is beneficial to turn off such throttling all together for achieving maximum throughput.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Multimedia\SystemProfile
NetworkThrottlingIndex=ffffffff  (DWORD, default: 10, recommended: 10 for media sharing, ffffffff for gaming and max throughput, valid range: 1 through 70 decimal or ffffffff to completely disable throttling)

It is only recommended to change this setting in saturated Gigabit LAN environments, where you do not want to give priority to multimedia playback. Reportedly, disabling throttling can also help reduce ping spikes in some online games."

i use Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, Intel 8265 AC MU-MIMO 867 Mbps, DIR-895L, all latest driver,  and tried this tune :
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-networking/very-slow-200kbsec-file-copy-between-win7-machines/b8736b1b-0a91-4567-ba33-215084ffc906

1. Running as Administrator in Command Prompt, type: "netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled"

2. Next, follow the instructions that Amrita wrote above.

First enter: "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled" and reboot.

Then enter: "netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=normal" to restore it to the typical setting.

3. Finally, go to Control Panel > Programs > Turn Windows Features on or off > and check "Simple TCPIP services (i.e. echo, daytime, etc.) so that it is enabled.

4. Reboot your system again, and the file transfer rates should be excellent.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Speed improve from ~20 MB/s to ~30 MB/s, maybe Dlink can fix/improve firmware to make this faster like we use Killer 1535 adapter card..

will try this in Windows XP :)

New drivers for the 192:
http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=66411.0

Haven't had a chance to test yet.

I am from Indonesia.
Smart Connect enabled and disabled, speed still same ~18 MB/s.
It just hdd 1 TB external USB 2.5 WD Passport Connect to router, speed normal if i connected to Laptop ~70 MB/s, and my 3 handphone,
but its doesnt stream or copying any files.
The speed when i try GB LAN wire stuck in ~50 MB/S, tried use 3 different devices, HDD WD passport usb 3.0 2.5, Flashdisk Sandisk Extreme Pro, and SSD Samsung 850 evo that i put in enclosure (usually my ext ssd reach ~400 MB/s when connect to USB 3.0 in my ROG Laptop).
DWA-192 and DIR-895 just 3 meter and there aren't any materials between them.
there aren't any APs near my house, tried wifi analyzer, clean.
USB drive attached 3.0 off course :)
I use Indihome provider.
