Title: Roku Streaming Stick Can't Connect to D-link 2750B Router from Verizon
Post by: dsg1211 on December 17, 2014, 01:04:26 AM
Last week, I received a DSL 2750B router from Verizon. I had no difficulty in connecting our mobile devices to it, with the exception of a newly acquired Roku stick. At first, I thought that it was due to the fact that the stick needed to download the latest software. I was able to get it to see the router if I temporarily disabled the router's security, but this is obviously not a workable or reasonable solution. It now has the latest software and it is activated but it will still not connect to the router and I know that the password is being entered correctly. Please help. What settings should I adjust on the router to get the Roku to see it?

If this modem and it's FW belongs to Verizon, then this issue may need to be addressed with Verizon support directly. Seems that if the Roku connects with OPEN WiFi and doesn't when WPA is enabled, there is a compatibility between the Roku and the FW thats on this modem. If you can't get any resolution with Verizon on this modem, I recommend 2 options:
1. Have Verizon bridge the model after you acquire a D-Link retail DIR series wireless router and connect the router to the bridged modem.

Then connect the Roku to the DIR series wireless router.

2. Or avoid any ISP modem rental fees and return the modem and purchase a retail version of this modem that has D-LInks OEM FW loaded on it.
