D-Link Cloud Cameras can be registered with an existing mydlink account using either the mydlink Lite or mydlink+ mobile app. Cloud cameras registered using one of the mydlink mobile apps do not require the Setup Wizard to complete mydlink registration. In fact, if a mydlink mobile app is used for mydlink registration and the Cloud camera is manually configured via the camera web UI (using a PC Internet browser), the Setup Wizard is not required for Cloud camera setup.

Procedure

  • Connect the D-Link Cloud camera to your local network (LAN)
    • If the Cloud camera uses a wired connection, the camera should automatically connect to the router via DHCP
    • If the Cloud camera uses a wireless connection, WPS or manual setup is required
  • Connect the mobile device running the mydlink mobile app to the same LAN as the Cloud camera
    • if the mobile device is connected to the Internet via a commercial carrier (e.g. Verizon), switch to a local wireless connection
  • Launch the mydlink Lite or mydlink+ mobile app
  • Press the Local button in the mydlink mobile app
    • This option tells the mydlink mobile app to look for Cloud cameras on the same LAN as the mobile device rather than a remote location
  • Press the Refresh button (i.e. circle icon with an arrow) on the top right corner of the mydlink mobile app
    • The mydlink mobile app requires access to the Cloud camera admin account. Make sure to log off any active camera admin account session on your PC(s) prior to performing this step. If the admin account is already in use, mydlink registration will fail
  • The Exploring Nearby Cameras message will display on the mydlink mobile app
  • The newly discovered camera should appear on the mydlink mobile app with a yellow icon indicating that the camera is new
    • If the mydlink mobile app is unable to find the new Cloud camera, make sure the Cloud camera was properly added to the LAN and validate that the mobile device running the mydlink mobile app is connected to the same local network as the Cloud camera
  • Press the entry containing the newly added camera on the mydlink mobile app and follow the on-screen instructions for camera configuration and adding the camera to a mydlink account.
