How to use Transmission on DNS 327L?
« on: November 23, 2013, 04:16:08 PM »

I have installed Transmission on DNS-327L but not sure how to use it to download. I can see the upload GUI but other than that, the setting and etc have no access to use it to download.

It's been a while since I used the client, but recall that you have to download a .torrent file locally to your PC and then open it from within Transmission or paste a hash address directly in the app.

Ok. I got it now. The so called "upload" is in fact to upload the torrent file to NAS then it can start downloading. It is working now. Thanks.

I'm glad everything worked out.  Please post your experiences as you start using the app.  ;)

Well, it is working as expected. I created a dedicated folder within the same volume to store the torrent file and Transmission folder. I can bookmark the UI and access Transmission independently via web browser so that I don't need to login to Dlink NAS to do. Everything is working perfectly. My Dvico Tvix 6400N upnp detect Transmission folder flawlessly/wirelessly and I can access it right on my tv screen. No issue with subtitle etc as the media player decodes the media files.
