DAP1360/DIR655/Epson Wlan printer problem
« on: July 29, 2012, 07:09:31 AM »

The DAP connected to DIR in Repeater mode and it looks good working. The problem is with the printer Wifi connection. All of the connected equipments can reach the internet via DAP. If the printer connects to the DAP than the printer is not available for the other equipments (notebook, tablet, etc) but if it connects to the DIR than it has fully availability.
The DIR and DAP have same wireless settings (fix channel 8, WPA2 only AES, auto 20/40MHz). The wireless setting of the printer is correct (same auth, channel).

Does anyone have any idea?

Thanks

Welcome!
What Hardware version is your router and DAP? Look at sticker under router and DAP.
What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on routers web page under status.
What region are you located?

Some things to try:
Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual.
Turn on DNS Relay under Setup/Networking.
Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router. Setup/Networking
Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address.
Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP under Advanced/Firewall.
Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming under Advanced/Networking.

Wireless Installation Considerations
What wireless modes are you using? Under Setup/Wireless/Manual.
Try single mode G or N or mixed G and N on the 655 router?
Turn off WISH, and WPS under Advanced.
Turn off Short GI, WLAN Partition, and Extra Wireless Protection if you have it. Under Advanced/Advanced Wireless.

Turn off all anti virus and firewall programs on PC while testing. 3rd party firewalls are not generally needed when using routers as they are effective on blocking malicious inbound traffic.
Turn off all devices accept for one wired PC while testing.

Hi,

Thanks a lot for your quick response. I am from Hungary/Europe. Pls look at my settings:

Router:
HW: B1
FW: 2.05
DAP:
HW:B1
FW: 2.11
"Turn off Advanced DNS Services" - I haven't this setting
"Turn on DNS Relay" - Already done
"Setup DHCP reserved IP addresses for all devices ON the router" - Done
"Ensure devices are set to auto obtain an IP address." - Already done
"Set Firewall settings to Endpoint Independent for TCP and UDP" - Done
"Enable uPnP and Multi-cast Streaming" - Already done

I am using mixed G and N on the router and on the repeater.
"Turn off WISH, and WPS" - Already done
"Turn off Short GI, WLAN Partition" - Done

I turned off the local firewall (ESET Security System) and only this notebook connected to the network via wire.

Unfortunatelly these settings didn't solve the problem.  Now the printer connects to the repeater ( I can see the MAC address of it on the repeater Status/Wireless) and not able to ping from any notebook.

Thanks for your efforts.

Gosztya

P.S. sorry for my bad english...

After getting the printer connected to the DAP, I would un-install the printer driver and re-install and re-set up the driver on the devices again and see if you can connect to the printer.

I would also connect a different device to the DAP, say a wired PC or a wireless PC and see if you are getting connected and internet thru the DAP as a test.

Hi,

Earlier I did it. If the printer connects to the router than I can use the scan function via wireless and I have ping to the printer. If the printer connects to the DAP than no ping so no connection to it.

Now an other notebook connects to the DAP wireless and my notebook wired. Same result.

I would contact your local regional DLink support, maybe level 2 and ask to see if there some help and information on the DAP and making sure it's configured correctly with your devices.
