Title: DGS-1210-10P Management Interface Question
Post by: mlee52554 on May 18, 2016, 07:22:12 AM
I have a new DGS-1210-10P located at the remote end of a VPN link and on a different IP network of course. I can't access the management web interface from the local network - can only get to it if I'm actually on a PC located on the same network as the remote switch. I can't even ping it from the local net. I have double checked the default gateway on the DGS-1210-10P and it's set correctly - to the same firewall that is doing the VPN. I can ping other targets on that end and even manage other devices with web interfaces. What am I overlooking?

Not sure if this is related, but I have a DGS-1100-16, and I would like to limit the management interface to one physical port.  In other words, in order to admin the switch, you would have to physically connect a laptop to a specific port on the switch.

I do not want it to be accessible from anywhere on the LAN.

It sounds like the opposite of the OP's question.
