Hi,
have seen lots of motion detection issues in this forum, but most of them without solution and different product or environment.

DCS-933L in night mode (set to auto) does motion detection well when it is completely dark.
But as the camera is in cellar, flies or spiders trigger false alerts at night.

So I switched to day mode, to get alerts when sensor lamp nearby goes on only.
But the cam triggers tons of false alerts in day mode when it is completely dark. Even when sensitivity is set to 1% and just one trigger window enabled.
All collected jpgs (ftp) have 6k size and all black!

I use 1.13.05 but problem was same with previous version.

I have second cam with same setting on another place where it is not completely dark during night, with no problems.

Please help!
Thanks, Schmuckerl

Link>Welcome!

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
Was a factory reset performed then set up the camera from scratch to see if this fixes the problem?
Try swapping camera locations with the other camera to see if the problem follows?
Is the 2nd Camera the same model?
