That this router still doesn't know the make or manufacturer of an XB1

(1/3) > >>

BIPOLAR BEAR:
Lets not forget, that under QoS with gaming set as priority. That the few devices I allow on this network (I'm the only one who knows this P.W.) That this router still doesn't know the make or manufacturer of my girlfriends Xbox, knows the manufacturer of my smart phone, yet doesn't identify it as a a "smart phone", is unsure about my pc both manufacturer and the function... How am I supposed to believe that this router is allocating traffic in my network if it can't recognize devices, the uses of said device, in order to prioritize the traffic under QoS. So if there is no "end point independent"  to help port forward, and no full cone NAT? Maybe this router can be fixed with a HAMMER?

FurryNutz:
I moved this into the 890 forum as this is a separate issue from the OPEN NAT issue. So lets continue here with it.

I to have seen the same thing with my XB1. For some reason the 2nd XB1 is seen as xbox however with mine it's seen as Microsoft.  :o

Not sure if this is incorrect handshaking with my xbox by the router or incorrect information given by the xbox console. I notice that on a new non D-Link router, it's seen as Xbox.  :-\

BIPOLAR BEAR:
Thank you for the info, Furry Nutz,
I will try and remember to keep open NAT and issues directly related to the DIR 890L in this forum. I certainly hope we can get these issues resolved on DLink's end and get this resolved so we can further venture on to XBL til we get all the issues resolved. I just want what I pay/paid for!

FurryNutz:
Completely understand. Hope everyone that is involved with some together and get a good solution. Many levels are involved I presume.

GreenBay42:
D-Link has been working with Microsoft to get this resolved. I hope to hear more next week.

Xbox users: Definitely enable IPv6 on the router (settings > internet > ipv6) - select Local Connectivity Only.
