Poor vision during day and night
« on: May 08, 2017, 11:07:03 AM »

Poor vision during day and night, seem to have allot of static during the evening and everything is pretty much white during the day hours. The camera is mounted on a garage under a overhang that is shaded. The driveway and front of the house is sunny but should be able to see something instead of WHITE. Possibly a BAD camera???  Any suggesstions anyone may have would be great. I will be placing a call with support here shortly if I can't resolve the issue myself.

Link>Welcome!

  • What Hardware version is your DCS? Look at the sticker behind or under the camera.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DCSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the camera and router?

Also check the power adapter volts and AMPs at the tip with a meter. Seen some adapters go bad.

Can you post a screen capture of what the video looks like?

You have some bad settings.  Log into the camera's f/w again.

Turn Denoise up to 25-30 to remove "static".

Try customize1, set max gain 24, min shutter the slowest and max the fastest.

check brightness and contrast to default settings.

Poor vision during day and night, ...

My camera night vision was bad when the IR hit the wall close to where it was mounted on.
When I re-angled/positioned the camera, the night vision distance was impressive. See http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=63964
