Title: DCS-960L Video Clip Duration
Post by: fahrenhe1t on January 18, 2016, 01:43:15 AM
Can anyone tell me what the maximum duration of the video clip option is on the D-Link DCS-960L?  You can see it in the web based config, under the "Video Clip" tab on the right.  The maximum duration dropdown in the middle should list the max number of seconds it will record:

I have the DCS-935L and it only records 10 second clips max.  Thanks!

10 second VIDEO CLIP to send clip (email or ftp)

6 minutes PER FILE for recording to sd card.  Can record to card continuously if you want.

Preevent has 5 seconds.

This is pretty odd - the DCS-2132L does up to 100 seconds... (but that's with reduced framerate/image quality... it'll do up to 5kb files).

That is only for sd recording, not for email or ftp.

For SD recording, I would suggest that to set 1mins recording.

Is there any way to force 100s FTP recording? New DCS-960L firmware?  ???
FTP 10s period rec is so stupid!  :'(

What about continuous FTP recording option (without motion detection)? Is there a difference?

Try using D-view Cam. Not sure about 100s FTP.

I don't have 960L... I want to buy one, but 10s FTP is to short for me :/

*** Maybe this is web configuration limit only? ***

Anyone tried to save config file and then fix:
e2g_media0_video_duration=10 <--- to 100
and upload it back? This works on DCS-6010L but 960L has some kind of different generation firmware I guess :(

Is there something like: e2g_media0_video_maxsize=50000 option?

Anyone?  ???

You might phone contact D-Link support and ask them which model camera may support your needs.

I think I need sample DCS-960L configuration file to go forward.

You might phone contact D-Link support and ask them which model camera may support your needs.

I'll try to check it out tonight.  The 5010l config file isn't readable.  This might be the same issue with the newer 960.

F/W v1.00.11

In IE11, I click "Save Configuration" to local Harddrive.... "Processing" pops up.. and nothing ever happens.

I reboot the camera, and started the download. It finally completed.

It is unreadable and not in text format.

I saved one file with "ftp" enabled and 9 seconds video clip.
I changed to 10 seconds and saved that config.

There are more than 1-2 bytes that have changed.

It's not a lot - but it could prove crazy to try to figure out.

I'll look a little more detail in the file comparison this weekend - but I don't expect miracles.

Look at the first post from ~fahrenhe1t (screenshoot) Your 5010L have diffrent web-conf interface!
Now I know that I need something like DCS-935L or DCS-960L with "video clip" menu section :/

***Anyone with DCS-935L or DCS-960L and config-dump?***

Something like:
e2g_media0_video_maxsize=
e2g_media0_video_duration=
                                     ... inside?

PS. My 6010L max possible "_duration" is 100s - everything above discard all changes(!)

Like I said, the config file is not readable by any human.
It isn't text.
These newer cameras aren't the same.

So  ~RYAT3  Your ^DCS-5010L is not suitable  :-\

Still no progress... anyone with DCS-960L or with "video clip" menu section? ???

(maybe: successful 960L-config-dump?)

I used my 960L for the config dump.

Something you might contact D-Link support about and ask them for a feature add.
