DES-3225G save settings
« on: January 08, 2009, 01:26:16 PM »

Hi Dlink-lovers!

Have a DES-3225G. But no TFTP server.

Anyone know if it's possible to save my setup as a file on a Win Xp box.

i think you will need  a tftp server for backing up the configuration of the switch ,

you can go for tftp server solarwind  which is open source and can be used to take back up.

I am 99% sure Solarwinds releases no open source projects.  the may release their server for free (as in beer) download but it is not open source.

Is a free (as in speech) TFTP server (as well as half a dozen other functions).  It is licensed under the EUPL which is an actual free licence, source code is on the download page now.

I might also add that I personally find it much easier to use (but that is anecdotal at best).
