Hi,
I am a long time owner of DIR-655 A2-v1.21, and since I was very satisfied with my router I decided to buy the new version - B1 v2.10NA.
The problem with the new router is that in a few minutes after I start the uttorenet client and start the download my router starts chocking, can't access internet, even can't access the router, about 2 sec after stopping the uttortent everything becomes normal.
As soon as I switch to the old A2 router everything operates normal.
Tried to limit the uttorent max. connections, tried also to turn off "Qos" on the router, everything I tried didn't help.
Please advice.

Did it come loaded with v2.10NA on it out of the box?
What region are you located?
Are you wired or wireless connected to the router?
Has a Factory Reset been performed?
What ISP Service do you have? Cable or DSL?
What ISP Modem Mfr. and model # do you have?

Well being that the B1 v2.10NA is not officially designed or supported in your region, I would presume there could a an issue here. Your region should be either EU or EA, and NOT NA which is North America.
Did you get your unit at a retail store or online?
-
I got the unit from online store
Can you suggest another firmware, so I can try ?

I don't see the DIR-655 listed on D-Links Israel site. So should something happen and you go for support, you'll probably not get any.
I would recommend that you return the DIR-655 NA unit and get one of the following that is listed on the site:
http://www.dlink.co.il/il/products/5/ (http://www.dlink.co.il/il/products/5/)
DIR-645, DIR-857 or if they have the DIR-826L, thats a good unit as well.

Hi,
Using only local models is a trivial answer, I am using for many years A2 with v1.35NA without any problems (then I switched it back to v1.21 and happy since then).
I don’t think that the “Internet” in NA is so different than in my region.
The point is that my “B1” router behavior reminds me the behavior of “cheap” routers that couldn't handle torrent connection.
Could it be that the new B1 router isn't “strong” like the older models?
Thanks

I presume it does handle anything put at it when working with correct FW and in the correct region. My Rev B has been working well for me. However I don't Torrent much if any here and beside, there are some who can't due to legal reason here in the NA region. Your region might have differences. Torrents are mostly problems in configuration and seeding of too many torrents at once and exceeding what some routers are not designed to do in the first place.
There are differences between Rev A and Bs for our region. Many different features between the two. These are great working routers out of the box and work well when used in there specified regions. Working with FW and models that are not supported in other regions can introduce anything problematic.
I suggest that you checked your Torrent configurations or lower your download limits. If your not satisfied with this model router that you return the router and get something that works for you for your region.
Good Luck.

Hi,
Can you please advice about how to apply a different firmware from another region.
I fail to apply the latest UK firmware.
Thanks

Try this:

Hi,
I succeeded to apply any earlier NA version, but couldn't apply the UK firmware, is there a another "trick" ?
By the way except NA and UK I couldn't find anywhere else firmware for B1.
Thanks.

Theres no other tricks, sorry.
I would recommend that you return the DIR-655 NA unit and get one of the following that is listed on the site:
