A new 06-30-10 release has been posted at the dd-wrt.com/others/eko/BrainSlayer-V24-preSP2/ download site if you're feeling adventurous (I'm not). Note that these are test builds. The last release recommended on the dd-wrt database is the 14311 beta build.

Boy , another update already ... cool . Updating now .

Much thanks Skello .  ;)

I'll report back my findings .

I am also seeing random disconnects on my C1 set as a wireless bridge with the 14594 version. I have reported the issue on the dd-wrt forum and got some suggestions for settings, but it is still happening, although it has been > 1 day since I had to unplug the bridge. Letting it soak a while to see if it stays up.

Reporting back on my C1 ... unfortunately same status for me still even with the new version ; unknown random disconnects as before . Tried various settings again all N speed (no mixed mode being used)  Again tried 20/40 , 40  , differant anttena settings , the whole gambit possibilities , etc .

Funny thing is , once a disconnect has happened and the router is powered down and back up  and I USE the connection , Iam fine for the whole time Iam using the connection ; its when the connection is NOT being used (sits idle) is when the disconnect happens at some point .

One thing Ive noticed too (maybe my lack of using "bridge" knowledge) , but I can only use channel 11 , there no other options/channels available as in say in a normal router or AP mode . I know 20/40 or 40 limits you in that reguard ; just was surprised that only one channel shows in bridge mode (normal ?) , as my 655 gives me afew channel options in those modes .

Hello Skello.

I purchased DIR-615 with firmwvare version E4 and upgrade with emergency room web interface.  After 100% complete message, nothing happened.   I tried this with Explorer and Firefox and it's the same symptom.   Could you share your experience about the symptom and any solutions?

Thanks
Jake.

Skyml.
If you want people to use their time to help you, you have to use time yourself to write a proper description of what went wrong.

"I installed it, nothing happened" isn't really enough

Hello Everyone.

I am having trouble here. I can do a 30/30/30 (hard) reset on my DIR-615 D2 and I upload the latest firmware, and the emergency room page says Everything is fine. But after that I cannot access the router at all. everytime i enter the routers address IE says 'cannot display the webpage'
.
I know its probably a laymen mistake, but I cant figure out whats going wrong.
Any help would be gladly appreciated, as my girlfriend is getting very angry with me over our poor wifi signal!

Simporis:
Are you using http://192.168.1.1/ ? that's the default address for accessing DD-WRT flashed routers.

Unfortunately I didn't have too much time lately to check back and help everyone. However, for people who are reporting that nothing happens after successful flash from ER, here is a quote from my guide:

If the DD-WRT flash works, reboot your router and set your Ethernet adapter to obtain IP automatically then try to access http://192.168.1.1 .

I cannot stress that enough.

@ Skello:

YOU SIR, are a genius. Thank you for suggesting DD-WRT. I flashed my DIR-600 and can finally access my VPN through Cisco's AnyConnect.

D-Link has constantly lowered their standards and I wouldn't have gotten this router unless my ISP gave it to me for free. I used to be their product manager, now I only use Linksys.

Thanks again!

Are you sure this will work for the Dir-615 v4.00 (updated to v4.11 already) D1? because on the site it says it isn't supported..(in the router database)

It says it isn't supported because DD-WRT have not received a D1 router to test the firmware on. It doesn't mean it doesn't work, just that they can't say that it does.

I myself have a DIR-615 D1 that originally was 4.00 updated to 4.11/4.12 that now has DD-WRT installed.

Quote
C2: Try the one for C1. It might work, but I don't have confirmation. If you test it and it works post on this topic so I can update this info.

yeah its c1 version works great with c2 rev too... it's about 5 months i'm using dd-wrt's latest versions on my c2 and had no problem, but wan led; it doesn't change to orange color when there's no internet access and it's always green! that's not important... the most important thing is that dd-wrt works great and is too far better than d-link's firmware...!

everybody don't forget that for the first time use emergency room and dir615c1-factory-to-ddwrt-firmware.bin . if you had any problem with that file just hex edit its last line to 00AP81-AR9130-RT-070614-02 (using for example NEO hex editor on windows) and try again using emergency room (how to get through the emergency room : http://forums.dlink.com/index.php?topic=10285.msg72088#msg72088 )...

for the next times first go to Administration > Backup on your dd-wrt firmware and backup all of your router's data and then go to Administration > Firmware Upgrade and upgrade your dd-wrt with that dir615c1-firmware.bin file...

Have a good time with the great DD-WRT
Always update to the newest version

I know that the B2 is not supported by DD-WRT, but what about other alternatives?  Like Open-WRT?  Anything other then the stock firmware.

Hello people!

I flashed my DIR-615 rev D1 with sucess but I can not acess to the Internet. Then I restore the original D-Link factory firmware v4.11 and I acess to the Internet again.

Do you know why I can`t acess to Internet with DD-WRT firmware?

Thanks!

DD-WRT is based on Open-WRT. So basically if Open-WRT would have support for whatever wireless chipset is in B2, then DD-WRT would have it too.

What kind of Internet access do you have? Static IP, Dynamic IP, PPPoE?
