So frequently rebuffering or reloading
« on: April 22, 2011, 07:32:55 PM »

Why does it rebuffering or reloading during videos (YouTube)?  I have Dir 655 router and cable provide me modem (Motorola SB5100 Surfboard). I subscribed 'Max' Internet (Download up to 20MB) instead of basic internet service.  I can't understand why can't I get good video without rebuffering so often.  Sometimes, it goes fine.  Do I need to set up certain in setting of router?  Can you help me?

Thank you

Try turning off QoS
Are you wired or wireless?
If wireless, try changing from mixed to Single mode G or N or Mixed G and N.
Enable Multicast Streams
Set Static IP addresses for your devices on the router.

Hi jbirch4,

Because your current Surfboard SB5100 Cable Modem, can't handle the higher speed effective.

Replace your current Cable Modem, with a Docsis 3.0 Modem. If you rent, exchange it for a Docsis 3.0 Cable Modem.

But, you can remove the D-Link Router and hook up the Surfboard SB5100 directly to your Wired Computer and make the same tests. See if the problem goes away, or is still around.

If the problem goes away, then it was the D-Link Router as the problem.

If the problem is still around, then the Cable Modem, should be replaced.

If the problem still exists after replacing the Cable Modem, the problem is then with the computer.

Also make sure that you have enough Free Space on the Hard Drive available to the Video.
