No connection via local network , but .....

Dear all

I need you guys' help.

Recently, my internet speed was extreme slow (slow by 2M) with my fibre optical plan. Finally I found it was because of my TP-link C7 router. Then I replaced my previous router (Belkin) to use. The routers have same setting such as IP, wireless key, password.. etc

The internet speed returned normal, but I could not access my 320L. I replaced my TP-link, cables to test. The result is the cables ok, but it is accessible with TP-link and slow internet speed. With Belkin, the LEDs was not lighting up, but normal internet speed.

Today, I bought a new router and found same results

I changed 320L from Statics IP to Dynamic IP and retested again. The result is still same:
Fault router - TP-link : accessible , network led is flashing
other routers , network led is off

Is anything I made mistake on ?

  • What Hardware version is your DNS? Look at the sticker behind or under the device.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the DNSs web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router? What is the routers IP address on the LAN side?
Is the DNS getting a Dynamic IP address from the main host router? Check the routers connected client table to see if the DNS appears there if you have the DNS set up automatic DHCP IP addressing.

I recommend using a Static IP address ON the DNS set to 192.168.#.32 or .20. If the routers default IP address pool is 192.168.#.100 to .200.
Swap out LAN cables. Link> Cat6 is recommended.

    firmware, ... I guess the latest one a few month ago (1.10 ,25 Oct 2017)

    2) What region are you located?

    only one router.
    I have 3 routers today . Belkin , TP-link, Totolink (i bought it today)
    192.168.128.1
    before the NAS was 192.168.128.51
    then i changed it to Dynamic IP with TP-link after

    I found the TP-link is fault because all connection is less than 2M whatever wifi or hard wire
    what i replaced another cables to link the NAS to Belkin and Totlink, the network port LED off. LEDs flash only with TP-link

    I guess that you misunderstand my meanings .

    My meaning is same cable , same config. The NAS is only connecting the TP-link (the LEDs is flashing)
    For others, LEDs is off. However, TP-link is defected now. I have to replace it

You might do a factory reset on the other router(s), then ensure that the DNS networking is set for Automatic DHCP obtain IP addressing. After doing the factory reset on the router(s) the DNS should pick up and get a IP address from the router. Check the routers client table to see what the IP address is.

What you are describing sounds like an IP address conflict putting the nas on a subnet that the standard DHCP ranges of the routers do not use.  The fact that you had the nas on 192.168.125.51says that for some reason you had an odd setup with your old router.

There are a few tests you can do to try and sort out the problem.
1) download an old version of netscan (unfortunately the new version is no longer free) or get an android network scanner and use that to examine your network.  Hopefully you will find your nas and the IP address it is using .

2) borrow a network switch and connect your nas, computer and router to it.  Connecting the nas and computer together through the switch will allow them to work together - the connection to the router is there to give them IP addresses assuming you have both setup to get an IP address from the router DHCP server, if they have fixed IP addresses you will have to change that to them getting IP address from router for this test.

If nas and computer work together through the switch then you need to check just how you have the varoius components setup and MAKE SURE that everything is on the same subnet.

Umm..  The LED was off like no cable plugged. I connect to the modem directly, then the led becomes normal. Therefore...  I dont think my favorite thingslgets an IP

Can you get a network switch or barrow one? Need to connect the DNS and a PC to this switch...

Can you get a network switch or barrow one? Need to connect the DNS and a PC to this switch...

Too bad.  I cannot get one free or temporary

Can try this, if you connect your PC directly to the back of the DNS, do you see any thing?
