Pretty much went back to the DIR 655 until this firmware was released.  I figured they would have fixed the bogus connection issue with my xbox.  Nope.  Still 11 Mbps.  While a little part of me wants to do 5-10 hours of troubleshooting for DLINK for free, it's just not worth my time.  It's almost like the guys that work on the firmware don't even bother to look at these forums.  Down goes the 827.  Back to the 655 till 1.04.

Tried 1.03 for two days and was locking up every hour or so. Went back to 1.02.

Did you apply the FW over what was already loaded or did you do a factory reset, upgrade, reset once more then set up the router from scratch?

Dangit, furry.  Stop making sense.  I actually just saved the config file and reloaded.  After rooting a few phones and reflashing custom roms, I should know better.  Best to wipe and start fresh.  I'll give it one more shot before reverting.

Trying again did a factory reset, upgrade, then set up the router from scratch.

Seems to have worked, it's not locking up like the first try with it.

Did you restore your settings from the backup or did you start fresh? I will wait this one out if I have to setup my tables and such from scratch again.

Waiting is an option however I presume in coding of changes are made to the FW code can effect any of the options recorded in previous version of configuration files, applying any older configuration files on to newer loaded FW version can and will present problems and the configuration options may no longer be available in the new FW version. This is why I've stressed that doing factory resets before and after FW updates and not loading saved configuration files is best. I have noticed that even on the 857, going from 1.00, 1.01 and 1.02, there was an odd behavior of my saved configuration files not working or not loading on to v1.01 for some reason. Even after a factory reset. I reported it to DLink and since then v1.02 was released. Ya I had to start from scratch. I wish they could nail down using configuration files better in line with FW updates. So waiting for newer firmware in hopes of using old configuration files, remember this, what they might take out of FW will probably effect old configuration files and usually what they take out is not put back in. This may have been a case here with the 827.

However Patrick, in your case, if it's working, don't fix it!  ::)

I think when the time comes that you need to upgrade FW, I would take screen captures of all the current options you have configured and save them for later use and you can test it out. Upgrade FW and see how it does. If it seems stable, then save off another configuration to file. If it doesn't seems stable, save off to file, factory reset and set up from scratch.

I have a few captures for what I need and have them printed out. Especially for IP reservations.  :o

Been using it up to now and still having it lock up. It will just stop working till I turn it off and back on.
V1.02 would crash and come back on it's own.I got a wireless camera outside and with v1.03 I have to move the router around to get a usable signal. With v1.02 it works where it was setting before. I don't have as good of wireless range with v1.03.

The only thing I seen changed in settings was HT20/40 Coexistence is on by default after installing v1.03.

I am going back to 1.02 as it seems to do better with it.
