I updated my 933L successfully via wireless. Wireless updates can be done however wireless stability is key between the camera and main host router. If you are sure the wireless signal between the camera and main host router is stable, then using mydlink.com from a wired PC should work to upgrade the camera. It's what I use. I asked D-link about this and wireless upgrades should work. Good wireless signal and stability is key. Any doubt in wireless stability, I recommend getting the camera connected to a LAN wire cable before upgrading.

I recommend using a Static IP address ON the DCS set to 192.168.#.93 always.

Does anyone know if there is a way to flash the DCS-933L with an older (probably 1.12.03) firmware without having a connection established?

I upgraded to the 1.13.05 firmware, and while it worked fine for a few weeks... my camera started rebooting constantly, without being able to connect via wireless. So, I figured I would downgrade, but when I plug it into my router (or any router actually) it is never able to connect or get an IP address, hence I can't flash an older firmware to it via the web interface.

I was wondering if there is a way to do it by using a crossover cable maybe?

First of all what wireless modes are you using on the main host router?
What channels are you using?
How many other devices are connected to the main host router while the DCS camera is connected to it.

Did you perform a factory reset while the camera was LAN wired to the main host router?
What is the Mfr and model of the main host router?

My 933l is on v1.13 since earlier this year and I haven't seen any reboot issues.

If you can't get to the web UI, try this:
Emergency Recovery Mode

If this fails, I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Thanks for the advice... I can tell you that my current setup is the same as it has been for the past 3 years when I got the camera, and was working fine until the firmware upgrade.

I tried the emergency recovery mode instructions, I actually got all the way to selecting the file and hitting the upgrade now button, but it just becomes unresponsive giving me a timeout screen. I actually waited up to 30 min in hopes it was updating something.

Unfortunately that didn't work either.

I will try to call later today, although I didn't had a good response last time I did... they suggested to take it to the store to have it configured.

Thanks for the info!!

Be sure to use the stated browser in the recovery information. Sometimes using Chrome may not work.
