Current configuration:
Hardware Version: C1     Firmware Version: 3.01   

When I check for updates through my routeur config page, I found none!

Then, nline, I have downloaded the 3.12N, unzipped it but I can not load it, I ggot the following message:

If the uploaded file is correct, it is possible that the device may be too busy to properly receive it right now. In this case, please try the upload again. It is also possible that you are logged in as a 'user' instead of an 'admin' - only administrators can upload new firmware.

Any idea?

I'm assuming you're using a wired connection for uploading the firmware - which is critical to avoid the unit from being bricked if you lose connectivity.  This being said, were you logged into your router under "admin"?  And did you ever alter any user permission settings?

Yes I am using a wired connection when trying to upgrade the firmware. And no, I did not alter any user permission settings......

I'm at a loss.  I have the same Hardware (C1) and uploaded 3.12N without a problem.  If all else fails, you can save the router settings to your desktop; reset the router to the factory default; upload 3.12N; and upload the settings file.

I have the same router C1 Ver 3.01 and when i checked for updates thru the router it said i was the latest one

PS my router says that all connection are unsecured, and i say where one said i should update the firmware, can i update from C1 V 3.01, without messing every thing up?

You can manually download the firmware from the DLINK website.  Just make sure you select the version that's specifically for hardware version C1.

Here's the link to the DLINK firmware page:  http://www.dlink.com/products/?tab=3&pid=DIR-615&rev=DIR-615_revC.  Make sure you are using a wired connection to perform the update and save your router settings to your desktop.

No problem. . . My first try installing 3.12NA some time ago failed due to a loose power cord and the recovery process was very painful (much more difficult than simply resetting the factory defaults).  Without this forum, many of us would be dead in the water.

I'm having the same issue, tried using the link that JavaLawyer provided with firmware version 3.12 and 3.13. I have no idea what's going on, but my DIR-615 Rev C1 Firmware:3.01 will not accept any other firmware.

I've even tried the emergency access to load 3.13, 3.12, DD-WRT, nothing works. In the emergency access it seems to load the firmware, but then it just sits there, there is no message about the image upload being complete.

Any suggestions?

Interesting. So the web interface isn't making the router download the flash, but your computer is downloading the flash through the interface, and then uploading to the router. In retrospect its obvious but I would have never thought of that. And since Firefox and Chrome are NOT capable of FTP out of the box, yes, I could see why MSIE is needed. Good to know. TY

I should have remembered to write about the IE dependency.  The same thing happened to me when my upload failed via Firefox. . . completely slipped my mind.
