Hello,

First about my setup, i have 3 x 5222L (rev B) and 2 x 2332L placed around the house and connected to wifi.

I get perfect streaming on all 5 of the cameras with 30fps on the app on both wifi and the remote option.

What i've noticed when selecting the "i" information button is that the 5222L would stream 30fps at around 3000-3500kbps, whereas the 2332L would stream 30fps at around 300-400kbps.

All 5 cameras are using the latest firmware and have been set at their max HD quality with the "Excellent" picture quality and highest resolution and the H.264 encoding.

Is it possible that the 2332L is using a newer version of the codec for it to stream the same high quality video in about a tenth of the bandwidth that the 5222L uses?

Appreciate someone looking into this because if that's the case, then the next firmware update could save a lot of bandwidth for both the user and dlink.

Happy to answer any questions, although i think i've put the most relevant information.

  • What region are you located?

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?
What is the distance between the Camera and the main host router?

Hey,

in Dubai, UAE
Router is Asus RT-AC3200 with the latest firmware
not sure i understand, but everything is enabled
Distances vary for all 5 but the results i'm getting are consistent.

I don't believe this is because of any setup issues and wired mode gives the same results....i think it has to do with the firmware of the 5222L the codec is not compressing the video at the same effectiveness as the 2332L

Also, can you please confirm the bitrate and fps you get through your 5222L (rev B) latest firmware

Thanks!

Hi Alanazar,

Could you help me out?
I can't get my 5222 to give me a smooth videostream. It won't give me more then 10 fps even though I set it up with "max framerate: 25"
Even if I use framesize 320x176 with standard quality (jpg or H.264). It will not give me more then 10 fps.
I wonder if you have other settings than I have.
Thanks in advance!

Turn OFF all the one of each camera model.

Start with one model being online while the others of turned OFF>

Does the video stream look good? Turn on the other model camera and do the same test?
Then turn on both models and test. Any differences?
