I have two DNS321s and a DNS323 on a small local network, with a Windows XP computer and a Windows 7 computer. I've tried to set them all the same way.

I can access all the data on Windows 7, but there are some differences.  The DNS321s show in My Computer as drives, with a bar showing how much space is used. The DNS323 shows as a file folder.

In Network, the 321s show as computers and will open and show data, and the 323 shows as Storage and clicking it goes to the 323 settings page.

Try removing the DNS-323 network drive map from My Computer and re-add it through Windows (i.e. right click on My Computer and select Map network drive). When you add the map, make sure to map to DNS-323 Volume_1 (or Volume_2), as mapping to the DNS-323 IP address alone will only create a link to the DNS-323 hardware, not the data volumes within.  Please see the post title "DNS ShareCenter - Mapping a DNS ShareCenter Device (IP vs. Volume Name)" in the following thread: ShareCenter - Important Posts & Information.

My DNS 323 shows that it is networked to my router fine, but I don't see it in My Computer network for mapping.  I have tried the Easy Search tool but it does not see it there either...  I have disconnected the ethernet cable to the DNS 323 and reconnected it.  I shows networked after reconnecting the cable.

Any suggestions?  Thanks!

Are you saying you can't find the IP of the DNS-323 and because of that you can't connect to it?

If that is the case download a copy of Netscan (Google for it) and use that to find our what is on your network and what the IP of the DNS-323 is. 

If you still can't find it the question is, is it setup to use DHCP or fixed IP?  If fixed IP, is your network on the  192.168.0.xxx sub-domain or something different?

Do you know the ShareCenter IP address? Can you access the DNS-323 web UI by entering the IP address in a browser on a PC located on the same LAN as the DNS-323?
