« on: July 25, 2012, 08:40:09 AM »

Revision Info:
Fixed: Mac filter issue.
Fixed: remote management issue.
Fixed: router lockup issue.
Fixed: setup wizard issue.

Info Here:
DIR-857 v1.02 FW

Let us know results if you choose to load it.  ;)

I recommend applying this FW updated over the routers current configuration.
DO NOT FACTORY RESET THE ROUTER BEFORE APPLYING THE UPDATE!!! If you do, your saved configuration file may fail to load or be accepted by the router after the FW as been applied. DLink has been notified of this problem.

. . . or wait for the early adopters to discover what's changed through trial and error.  ???

Please let us know.  Just checked the US site and it still has FW1.01.Hopefully Dlink will post a DETAILED description of changes in  FW 1.02.

Currently on FW 1.01 and has been running flawless and stable on  all of my static wired and wireless IP-Clients. I have (2) Linksys routers and a Dlink 8 port switch attached to the back of the DIR-857.

The one Linksys router as an AP and the other has been bridged to 3 other linksys routers. I have 4 DLink wireless cams connected via the linksys. All other wireless clients have direct access to the DIR 857 ie. iPhone 4, Ipad3, 5GHZ Lappie, XBOX 360 (2.4), (2) Sony Blu-Ray units. All of this running in a 2,300 SqFt. home!!!

Thus far the 857 wireless has been rock solid, much better than my E4200, which I still have, may have to DD-WRT it soon. From what I've read Broadcom will give the official greenlight to the new "AC standard" in early 2013. May have to wait another hardware revision to see who will have the better router...hopefully DLink  ;)

I will.
I loaded mine this evening. Haven't had a chance to fully check it out. I did a dirty upgrade over what was already installed with a current config. Wanted to see how it worked out. I'll put it online in the next few days and check it out. Haven't seen any premature log out issues yet using Mac OSX. Will test Windows and IE9.

My printer still doesn't seem to work with it and SP.  >:(

If anyone has or hasn't got v1.02 to work with Hurricane Electric 6in4 tunnel, please post here. For me, v1.01 didn't work with the tunnel so I had to downgrade to the old v1.00b9 posted on the FTP site.

Please start a new thread post and I'll have some people come take a look and see if maybe there is a configuration problem.

I was getting extremely slow download speeds (1 MB) and internet (but not wifi) disconnects this past week on wifi devices...and I just updated to 1.02 tonight.

I'll be out of town this weekend but will monitor it next week and see if the issues are resolved.  I have a feeling they have been.   :)
