Title: router restarts and dhcp/interent/wireless doesn't work.
Post by: DamianWarS on October 12, 2010, 06:41:54 AM
when I log into the router certain things I click will just restart the router and I have to log back in.  When I say "restart" what I mean is I loose my network connection and gain it back again.  For example when I click the "status" tab I instantly loose the network connect, then regain it back and I have to log back into the router again never being able to view the status tab.  If I run "ping 192.168.0.1 -t" the router will happily be pinging the router then when I click the "status" tab the ping will timeout once then it will happily start pinging again and this is when I have to log back into the router.

Along with this the router's DHCP server doesn't work, wireless, or internet connection.  I can set up and save my pppoe connection but since I can't go to the status tab I really don't know if the router is connected or not.  I can't confirgure the wireless settings because the router just restarts.  My computer can only access the router through ethernet and when I manually configure the IP address.  I have done a 30-30-30 reset on it (hold reset 30 seconds, unplug unit and continue to hold reset for another 30 seconds, plug unit back in and continue to hold 30 seconds)  30-30-30 might be a bit overkill but it seems to "format" (for lack of better word) the unit and just loads a management screen for loading firmware.  I have loaded different firmware versions and they all successfully upload but the router works the same.

any ideas what is going on or how to fix it?  Or does anyone know an open-source firmware that will work for this unit?
