Title: DAP-1665 Rev A v1.17, 5Ghz wireless is down
Post by: mtruchado on December 11, 2019, 01:43:43 AM
This is an old story, the 5Ghz link is own after a few days of use. There is a thread where people are suggesting to downgrade to 1.14. I personally have the latest 1.17 that fixes the KRACK security issue in a couple of these APs, but It seems that this firmware has the same bug that was introduced in version 1.16.

Could you please release a new firmware that includes all the krack security issues and also that fixes once for all this 5Ghz link issue?

Thanks.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this.

We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.

Yes It was. Read the other thread, this was broken in firmware 1.15 or 1.16 and since then It's not fixed. They recommend to go back to 1.14

Sounds like D-Link is aware of this then. I guess you'll have to revert back to v1.14.

Why? 1.16 and 1.17 have some fixes I need like the krack security patches. Reverting back to 1.14 is not an option. Creating a new firmware with all the fixes and enhancements included in 1.17 + this 5Ghz issue is the way to go.

Please contact D-Link support and let them know and keep in contact with them. They will need to take action on this.

Good Luck.
