Hello,

This issue just recently started and is now consistent.  Every 40 minutes or so the orange light will come on for the globe (Wan connection) on the box and internet connectivity is lost.  I have to reboot the router to establish the connection again.  I've tried a hard reset and setup the box again but doesn't help.  I have the following:

Model Name: DIR-1935    Hardware Version: A1    Firmware Version: 1.00

I see the following in the logs:

2018-07-19 09:56:07 [DNSMASQ]: failed to bind DHCP server socket: Address already in use
2018-07-19 09:56:07 [DNSMASQ]: FAILED to start up
2018-07-19 09:56:07 ipsec_setup: ...Openswan IPsec stopped
2018-07-19 09:56:07 [RC]: Current Wan interface is eth3 , mode is dhcp
2018-07-19 09:56:07 [RC]: Wan(eth3) Disconnect
2018-07-19 09:56:07 ipsec_setup: ...Openswan IPsec stopped
2018-07-19 09:56:07 ipsec_setup: ...Openswan IPsec stopped

I don't think this is an ISP issue since I am able to direct connect my pc to my cable modem and don't experience any drops.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thanks Furrynutz.  I’m in Waterloo, ON, Canada.  My ISP is Teksavvy.  I’m wired to the modem and it’s cable service.  The modem is a Thompson DCM476.  Update on my issue.  I switched the cable connecting my router to the modem to a new CAT6 this morning.  No issues for the past 4 hours.  I think I’m out of the woods but will keep an eye on it.  Weird issue though since I’ve been running fine for the past five years.

Ya that could be an issue. Keep an eye on it. Had the old cable been moved recently by chance? Could have been that if the cable has a intermittent connection and was on the boarder of failing. Could have failed if recently moved which would have possibly cause this problem. If the new cable works and the DIR doesn't show any other problems, seems it would point to the old cable.
