Static ip made me lose connection
« on: July 19, 2014, 08:13:36 AM »

I needed static ip on one of my DCS-930Ls. However, after setting the static ip to 192.168.0.81 port 81, I couldn't view it using mydlink, it's "offline". I've checked the wireless connections on my router, and the camera is indeed connected with ip 192.168.0.81. Worth mentioning is that I used to view my camera without any problems using an url like mydomain.com:81 without port forwarding in my router

If I have set static ip in my camera, do I need to set up static ip and port forwarding in my router too?

I left the "Default Gateway" empty, is that a problem?

Is the static IP you selected within the range set in your router UI?

Yes. I did set the ip to 192.168.0.81 in the camera and the router. Also, I know that camera is working because I'm able to see images using my home automation system (which is the reason I wanted to use static ip).
