Questions on 3rd party FW and the emergency room

Happy to receive my 882 and determined to flash a custom rom on the device for some necessary functions
i've noticed that there are some modded pre-compiled tomato firmwares for mt7621 devices, seems this device also meets the requirements
since ddwrt uses a specific factory-to-dd firmware in the emergency room, does it implies that i can't flash this generic one onto the device?

and, if it is impossible to flash through the emergency room, can i flash the custom FW through the converted ddwrt?

Do not use emergency recover room for flashing to 3rd party FW. Just use the routers Firmware Update web page UI feature to convert to DD-WRT.

You'll need to refer to DD-WRT for help and information after you have installed WRT:
