Title: New firmwire platform doesnt highlight motion when using continuous recording?
Post by: taymag on October 14, 2015, 08:49:49 AM
So I updated my firmware and use continuous recording but it does not show in the playback spots that motion was detected. In the old platform if you used continuous recording and when you opened playback you saw blue spots (motion detected) in the red strip (continuous recording area).

This is almost required considering if you need to check something you are opening 24 hours worth of video and need it narrowed down. If I needed to check something that happened during the day now I would not have a clue where to look and it would require me to look through 24 hours of video? And that is only if I knew the day. If I was gone for the weekend I would have to look through 3 days worth of video, seconds at a time?

This cant be right, someone please tell me I am missing something here? I LOVED the old setup/platform, the new one would be nearly useless if this is correct.

Either no one uses this or no one upgraded their firmware...

Is there a way to go back to the old firmware???

What version did you upgrade to?  ???

I can confirm this is an issue with the latest firmware:

Agent Version: 2.0.19-b80
Current NVR Firmware Version : v2.02.00
Firmware Date : Sep 16 2015
Current NVR Device Pack : v2.10.02

In the previous version (prior to the new "stainless" interface), when selecting video to view through the calendar, you would have the red continuous recording bars, but also blue highlights where there were motion detection events.
In the current version, it all shows as the red continuous recording bar, regardless of whether or not motion detection events are interspersed.  They're also not reflected in the Event List on the Playback page.
The motion detection events are logged and can be viewed in the log panel of the Live View, and the motion detection icon flashes in the OSD when playing back recorded video, so the DNR-202L is definitely receiving and logging the motion detection events.

(Unrelated, but the bug still exists where recorded video exported from my DCS-932L has audio that plays at half-speed unless I fiddle with the header in a hex editor.  Video exported from recordings of my DCS-2132L is fine.)

Thank you, I'll forward this to D-Link for review.

I have been looking for exactly this feature.

Since it seemed to be available in the previous firmware did we get a answer on when this is returning?

I am REALLY hoping for it to be in the new update.

For example, one of the lawn people ran into my gate last week and tried to get away with it cause no one notified me until I showed them the video, I didn't know "for sure" it was him so I had to scroll through hours of footage from the day (they are in the neighborhood pretty much 9-5 on our lawn day). I was able to scroll at 2-4x the speed but that still took over 30 minutes to find and I got lucky it was early in the day or it could have taken hours.

TO THE MODERATOR/ADMIN, I am 99% sure they don't have this feature because your camera "should have" picked up the motion and you would know from your email alert, but I only have 1/4 of my screen on motion so it doesn't always tell me when there is motion. Just something to add if they are wondering why (just a thought on why they wouldn't add this cause its odd that's its out on this update)

I love the new update but it is time for me to revert to the old firmware if the next update doesnt have this.

Thanks for the help!
