Slow upload speeds?
« on: May 14, 2019, 04:14:20 PM »

Any suggestions for slow upload speeds. Have checked

1. Latest firmware - check
2. Tried turning off QOS - no help

If I bypass the router I get my 5M up speed but as soon as I connect the router I get .3 mbps. Cannot operate like this.

TIA

  • What Hardware version is your router? Look at sticker under the router case.
  • Link>What Firmware version is currently loaded? Found on the routers web page under status.
  • What region are you located?

I don't know what the hardware is...what number is that? It says 0560 on the back? It says A3 when I am logged in and firmware 1.37 NA.

I am in San Diego CA using Cox with a business account 25/5....cable, download speeds are great but uploads are terrible.

I have am Arris CM8200 Touchstone modem. If I go directly through the modem I get the 5M upload speed. As soon as I connect via the router it drops to nothing. I am also going through a D-Link switch.

What is the Model # of the D-Link switch?

Do you have QoS or Traffic Shaping enabled?

Try a factory reset on the 655 and setup from scratch. Don't enable QoS or TS. Connect your wired PC to the back of the 655 and connect the 655 directly to the modem. While the router is factory reset, I would turn OFF the modem for 30 seconds then back on. Then walk thru the setup wizard.
  • Turn off Advanced DNS Services if you have this option under Setup/Internet/Manual or under Setup/PARENTAL CONTROL/Set to>None: Static IP or Obtain Automatically From ISP.
  • Turn off DNS Relay under Setup/Networking. Link>Finding Faster DNS Addresses using Name Bench and input new DNS addresses under Setup/Internet/Manual.
  • WAN Port Speed set to Auto or specific speed? Some newer ISP modems support 1000Mb so manually setting to Gb speeds can be supported by the router. Advanced/Advanced Networking/WAN Port Speed
>WAN and LAN Connection Rates and ISP Speeds FAQ

I have a Rev A and last time I tested it it saw well over your ISP speeds.
