Title: DCS-930L web interface unresponsive after an hour or two
Post by: jrandyw on February 01, 2011, 08:12:38 PM
My DSC-930L's web interface becomes unresponsive about an hour or two after power cycling my camera.  It still responds to pings, and it still sends images to FTP when it detects motion, but I can't log into it via web interface, mydlink, or the iphone app.  Power cycling the camera fixes the problem for an hour or so but then its right back to not working again.

Further detail, I'm seeing a connection reset error in my browser after a few seconds of it trying to open.  I can provide traces if anyone thinks that would be helpful.

I would hazard a guess that one of the applications open on your computer has a memory leak and eventually there isn't enough free RAM for the Dlink app to function. I don't know how to tell you how to test for the condition except to experiment. Using the Control Panel, you can contol what apps load upon starting the computer. Are you running any larger memory-intensive apps? Just a thought...

I have the exact same problem with one of my 4 cameras. The web interface becomes unresponsive while ping and ftp continues to work.  It is only a week old.

Did anyone find a solution yet?

well, I guess i'll post what I found so far.

I've disabled UPnP on my CAMERA, NOT in my router.  it hasn't been down for about 24 hours so far, and I don't even get that 1 minute limitation via my 3G network anymore.

if things change, I'll make another post.

Ok, it has been several days and the web interface never went down.  so by disabling UPnP, the web interface works!  but when you connect using iPhone, you do get that 1 minute time limit.

I did get unresponsive web interface again. Disabling UPnP does not help

My DSC-930L is also unresponsive.  How do you ping the camera?  Can you get FTP images without access to camera setup in mydlink?

Any help getting my security camera back online via remote is appreciated.

Thanks.

How do you ping the camera?

(1) In Windows, go to Start -> Run and enter "cmd" in the text field.
(2) A Command window will open.
(3) enter "ping IP_ADDRESS" (where IP_ADRESS is your DCS IP address)
