Title: DNS 321 - Forgot Password - Password Recovery
Post by: timmcguinness on March 05, 2011, 07:11:37 AM
I need to recover the password for my DNS321.  If necessary I can reset and reformat the drives - they are just backups - but how do I do that?  What is the process to recover password and re-access to this NAS?

Reset your NAS settings to factory default using the reset button.

Resetting to the factory default firmware should have no impact on your existing HDDs or data.  Once the firmware is reset (via the reset button), you should have open access to your existing data.

Can anyone confirm the data is NOT lost after resetting DNS-321 to recover the password?

Resetting the DNS-321 using the "Reset Button" on the rear of the device will not impact your HDD configuration or data. The procedure only impacts the firmware settings.
