Title: Mydlink.com is not working with my DCS-2330L. And other issues.
Post by: techindahaus on March 05, 2014, 06:00:02 PM
Hi - I just purchased the DCS-2330L. Im having several issues.

1. When I log into the www.mydlink.com website, my camera is shown. I have installed the Java app as requested. It will not load the preview, settings or anything. It just asks to reload.

2. Im trying to setup email notifications directly on the camera. supposedly there is supposed to be a menu to setup your email server, port etc. There isn't. I DID manage to go through the motion detection wizard and find a email notification but its limited and doesn't offer SSL/TLS which I need with Gmail.

I have made sure that my firmware is current. I don't know whats happening with this thing. Is it just buggy all around? If so, Im taking it back.

I had what appears to be a similar problem with my new DCS-2330L not working with any MyDLink website or app and finally resolved it by logging directly into the camera and creating a self signed certificate for HTTPS under the Advanced settings tab.  After that was created and loaded I could view the camera stream and settings using the MyDLink website or the mobile apps.

What Mfr and model is the main host router?
What wireless modes are you using?

Be sure to use the latest set up software to install the camera and get it registered.

I recommend that you phone contact your regional D-Link support office and ask for help and information regarding this. Rerference this thread as well. We find that phone contact has better immediate results over using email.
Let us know how it goes please.

Already talked to 3 different tech support people. They replaced the camera, the second one did the exact same thing. They told me the issue was on their end with the software.

Does the same thing. says " Could not connect to the internet. Click Close, then check your settings."

Do did you do a factory reset and then downgrade the FW then set up from scratch?
Does the camera get an IP address from the main host router? Look at the main host routers DHCP client table. If it has one, can you connect to the cameras web page at this IP address in a web browser?

IF you can access the camera's web page while it's got an IP address, go in and set up a static IP address of 192.168.#.23. Give the same subnet addresss and gateway for your router. Set manual DNS to your ISPs DNS on the camera as well. This is what I use and camera has worked well with Staic addressing.

Try using Single mode G or N or Mixed G and N on the main host router, WPA2 only, manual channel 11 if it's not being used by neighbors.

The D-Link tech and I have tried everything you mentioned except for changing the router to single mode. I can view the camera local just fine, has a great picture and the event recording is nice after you turn the sensitivity down. Just can't connect to their server

They emailed me yesterday with this response " the issue that you have was already raised to our Network Engineers and they are currenlty working on the fix. At the moment we Technical Support team does not have a time table as to when the issue will be resolved but rest assured when a fix is available, it will be posted on the mydlink support site."

I can always look at the recordings when I get home so waiting isn't that big of a deal. Bought a second one for the back yard. The video quality is awesome. Have them both set to record 3 seconds before event so not to miss anything.

I'm having the same problem with the DCS-2330L I just purchased - I emailed Tech Support, but haven't heard back yet.  I've tried with the original firmware and 1.12 and have used the setup downloaded from the DLink website.  I've factory reset and tried again and tried both Ethernet, WPS, and manual Wi-Fi setup.  The same "cannot connect to internet" error has been received under both Windows 10 (with Edge and with IE as default) and Mac OS X El Capitan, as well as through the Windows Phone MyDlink Lite app.  I have the router setup to assign a specific IP address and am able to access the camera perfectly over that address, but the software-based setup never completes and the direct-access site doesn't show any options for connecting to MyDlink like are shown online.  I've exhausted every option I can think of to get this to work and have had absolutely no luck whatsoever.  I bought this for the MyDlink Cloud, Windows Phone app, and SmartThings support, but having a locally-accessible camera without Smart Home support is pretty much useless.  Has anyone tried anything else that worked??

I recommend assigning a static IP address to the camera ON the camera using 192.168.#.23. Ensure uPnP and uPnP Port Fowarding is enabled ON the camera.

I'm in California using an ASUS RT-AC3200 with router-assigned static IP of 192.168.#.5 with uPnP and uPnP Port Forwarding enabled.  I've tried both Ethernet and WiFi - not sure which wireless mode, though, when I tried that.  I'm able to access the camera's webpage locally with the IP address and remotely through the uPnP port forwarding.  Everything seems to be functioning perfectly except for the MyDlinkCloud function (can't get to it through setup from Mac El Capitan, Windows 10 or 7, or App - it isn't a listed settings option on the camera's webpage) and SmartThings connection, although the latter I assume to be caused by the former.

Firmware Version  1.12.00
Hardware Version A
Agent Version 2.0.19-b51n

There is some things going on with the MDL service and is set to fully take place this friday. Not sure if this is reason for not being able to get going with the service.

I presume you have set up a mydlink.com (http://mydlink.com) account first at the site, then attempted to have the set up SW associate the camera to the account created on the MDL site?

Also when entering into MDL, there should be a notification of installation of a universal player plug in when using IE11 or any other supported browser.

I have a new 2330 that I have not installed yet.  I don't use MyDlink with my other cameras and won't with this one either, but since the camera is not in use yet, I will try to get it working with MyDlink today if I get some time.  Just in case another data point is helpful.  :)

I'll have to wait for Friday and see what happens after the update - I don't want to end up hitting up against the return period...

I've tried to create an account at MyDlink.com, but everything I've found shows that the account has to be created during the software setup process - is there some other way to create an account that I'm missing?  I'd like to see if I can go from the MDL account side and add the camera.

Thanks!

Have you have used the SW to set up a account with a email and PW correct? Do you get past this point?
Do you get any verfication from the MDL site for the email that was used?

So this is all very strange.  I've tried for two days to get the software to work with no luck, but went ahead and tried again today - everything worked fine, I am now signed up with MyDlinkCloud, and am able to see my devices through the website.  I'll have to check when I get home to see if SmartThings now sees the camera, but I'm assuming it will work now.  I didn't change anything on my side, so I'm guessing whatever work D-Link has been doing is starting to filter out...  Thanks!

Since it is working, I won't bother trying to set mine up for myDlink.  I actually did get partway into the process.  I never set these up using the wizard -- I just use the web interface -- but I downloaded the wizard to try to get myDlink working.  And I ran into an issue using the wizard just to (re-) set up the camera.  I already had it configured for a static IP, but the wizard rejected the static IP I had specified and said it was invalid.  I used 10.0.1.x IP addresses internally, and I tried a few of them and the wizard rejected them all with errors.  Not sure if it only wants 192.168.x.x addresses.  Anyway, I won't bother trying to get past that point since the OP got his camera working with the cloud service.
