Which of the 3 antenna is 2.4Ghz?
« on: August 31, 2016, 02:07:25 PM »

I want to hook up a 2000mw (2W) 2.4Ghz b/g/n amplifier to the DIR-835, but it has 3 antenna's, which one of those antenna is for 2.4Ghz?  I know the router is a dual band 2.4 and 5Ghz, and by disabling the 5Ghz side (being that none of my equipment uses 5Ghz), the router would then use 2.4Ghz entirely.

The reason I want to use the 2W amplifier, is because of all the wireless equipment I have in the house, cell phones, cordless phones, wireless mice and microwave, all run on 2.4Ghz, and interfere with the wifi network.

By finding out which of the 3 antenna uses 2.4Ghz, I can unscrew that antenna and attach the amplifier to it, it will also give me internet access in my workshop.

I think you'll have to disconnect each of the antennas one at a time, while you have the 5Ghz radio disabled.
