Lan Problems with DIR 655 wireless devices
« on: August 15, 2011, 09:19:25 AM »

Im pretty new working with routers so if you need more info just ask and ill find it.
I purchased a DIR 655 to set up in my home.  I have 3 computers and 2 xbox 360's working off the router.  I was able to mess with the setting to allow both 360's to be connected with open NAT.  I was trying to create a game to just play with my brother and I and we were unable to connect to each other (even with both of us having open NAT).  I have a xbox 360 S with built in wireless adapter and he has a xbox wireless G adapter.  I wanted to see if the devices could see each other across the router with my computer.  I put Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne on both computers and had him try to create a game on LAN.  He created the game but I was unable to see it.  Both computers are wireless.  While he still had the game made, I took my laptop and wired into the router.  I was then able to see his game with my computer wired in and his wireless. Once I unplugged and tried wireless again I was unable to see his game.  Plugging back in it came back up.  Any help with this issue would be greatly appriciated.
Thanks.

Check out the DGL-4500 forum for the gaming and gamefuel sticky. Should help you get your game on.

Thanks for the help. Although those settings did help my individual gameplay, it didn't solve the issue of being able to see another wireless device from a wireless device.  Any other ideas would be appriciated.
Thanks

Hi,

Check the WLAN Partition setting in the router Advanced setups (if its unchecked, Check it, Save and reboot the router).... And UPnP setting can affect XBox NAT settings....

With uPnP Enabled and if you have set up QoS rules for the Xbox, then you should see NAT OPEN which is preferred.
